Chinese Muslims to Complain to Authorities of Oppression

Demaz – Chinese Muslims to Complain to Authorities of Oppression

13.09.2007 – Over 400 Muslims belonging to Khuey national minority (Muslims, known in post-Soviet area as Dungans) came to the premises of Beijing administration around 8 AM in the morning, August 5, to lodge complaint to the higher authority…“Villagers came from Tzichzi village near Beijing”, informed participants of the protest. Local authorities confiscated their lands to construct the road. However they didn’t get any compensation till now. When peasants-Muslims applied to regional administration they were told that compensation was given. Having applied to construction company they learnt that money were transferred to government. Villagers were sent to different places and as they hold themselves “nobody did care about their problems”.
