King Mohammed VI granted free pardon to 750 people condemned by various courts of the Kingdom, on the occasion of Id Al Fitr, marking the end of the Holy month of Ramadan and to be celebrated in Morocco on Saturday.According to a Justice Ministry press release, total pardon was granted to 105 inmates over their remaining prison term, reduction of imprisonment term to 583, commuting of life imprisonment to time term to 2 and total pardon over the prison term to fourteen people.

The royal pardon also concerned writing off the fine to 29, total pardon of the imprisonment term and the fine payment to 8 and pardon of the imprisonment term with maintaining the fine payment to 9 people. Pardon is granted to a number of prisoners by the Monarch on the occasion of religious and major national celebrations, notably at the Id Al Fitr and Id al Adha (lamb sacrifice), celebrated during the haj or pilgrimage.The Sovereign also sent congratulation messages to Islamic heads of state on this occasion, that is celebrated in the world according to the Islamic calendar based on the lunar system.
